Thinking of moving? - buyers urged not to delay  May 2009

The Truro-based company has agreed the sales of more than £50,000,000 pounds worth of property so far this year with buyer activity increasing month on month.

Ian Lillicrap, Director, said: “Over the first 122 working days of 2009 we have agreed sales on 128 properties. The figures speak for themselves and we have recently increased our staff in order to cope with the demand we are facing.”

Andrew Chilcott, Director, added: “It is certainly an extremely busy time for us and a lot of properties are being snapped up virtually as soon as they appear on the market. If you are looking to buy in the near future then my advice would be to set the ball rolling now while prices in some areas remain very attractive.”

Lillicrap Chilcott is bringing new homes to the market every day and says there is still a healthy choice of waterfront and country homes to choose from. However, it says many sales are exchanging contracts within days of the first viewing taking place which suggests that having made the decision to move, buyers are acting fast.

Among those properties sold so far this year are 8 The Strand in Falmouth and 3 Victoria Quay in Malpas – both of which were sold within days of being launched.

Kinvara at Maenporth exchanged contracts for a figure well in excess of its asking price within two weeks of Lillicrap Chilcott being instructed to sell it for £1,500,000.

Andrew Chilcott said: “The message is pretty simple. If you are serious about buying a property then the way to go about it is to pick up the phone and give us a call. There is only so much to be gained from sitting at home and trawling through the internet. The best thing you can do is speak to us and we will do our utmost to help you find the home you want.”
